Celebration of Saga Dawa
Treasury of Blessings

Saga Dawa, May 12th—June 10th this year, is the most significant month in the Tibetan lunar calendar. It is said that the results of virtuous actions are greater than usual and therefore it is an auspicious time for immense generosity, virtue and compassion to be practised. The full moon day of the month, called Saga Dawa Düchen (great occasion) is one of the holiest days celebrated in Tibet, commemorating Sakyamuni Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and Parinirvana (death). Rigpe Dorje Centre will observe the holy day with the profound meditation, Treasury of Blessings at 10 a.m.

Treasury of Blessings is a meditation on Sakyamuni Buddha that was revealed by Mipham Jamyang Gyatso Rinpoche in the 19th century. The benefits of this meditation are vast including pacifying destructive emotions and sowing the seeds for enlightenment. By receiving the blessings of Sakyamuni Buddha, one can purify karmic defilements and obscurations, and protect against obstacles.
