Mahayana Buddhism is based on generating Bodhicitta (altruism). Rooted in the Paramitas (Perfections), it is through the five paths of Buddhist study and practice that this can be achieved. Progression on this spiritual journey is experienced through the ten bhumis or stages of achievement and ultimately liberation.

Annual Mahakhala Weekend Retreat

10 a.m. – 2 p.m.*

According to Tibetan Buddhist tradition, Mahakhala Puja (chanting meditation) is done at this time in order to purify any personal or collective negative deeds of the past year; and to welcome the New Year with a pure motivation and open heart for the benefit of all beings, for peace and harmony around the world.

*Please bring some food offering for the shrine Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

DONATIONS WELCOME: please give what you can.

12:30 lunch break: If you can, please contribute some vegetarian food to a potluck meal to be shared by those participating in the retreat.
