Pilgrimage and Retreat in Nepal
March 29 to April 18, 2025
Acharya Choying Gyurmey is leading a 21-day group pilgrimage which will include the 12-day meditation retreat at Pullahari Monastery, Kathmandu, Nepal, on the Creation and Completion Stages of Meditation with the Very Venerable Drupon Khenpo Lodro Namgyal.
Following the retreat, we will visit Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Nepal including the three great stupas, Boudhanath, Swayambhu and Namo Buddha; the Guru Rinpoche cave and the shrine containing a self-arisen Tara in Pharpin.
You are welcome to join us and take full advantage of this spiritual journey.
Program:
- Day 1: March 29: Departure from Pierre Elliot Trudeau Airport, Montréal
- Day 2: Arrival at Kathmandu airport, Nepal. Transport to Pullahari Monastery.
- Days 3–15: Meditation retreat at Pullahari Monastery.
- Day 16: Day at Pullahari Monastery, spending time with monks, where we will offer them a meal, tea and individual offerings.
- Days 17, 18, 19: Visit to pilgrimage sites in Nepal, coming back to Pullahari Monastery to sleep.
- Day 20: Flight back to Montréal
- Day 21: April 18, Arrival in Montréal.

Cost:
- Flight (approximate cost): Between Can$2600 and $3200
- Registration fee: US$50 non-refundable
- Room and board at Pullahari Monastery—prices in US dollars.
(A) Single Room with attached bathroom:
US$35 x 18 days = US$630
(B) Double Room with attached bathroom:
US$60 ($30 per retreatant) x 18 days = US$540
(C) Single Room:
US$30 x 18 days = US$540
(D) Double Room:
US$50 ($25 per retreatant) x 18 days = US$450
(E) Triple Room:
US$60 (US$20 per retreatant) x18 days = US$360
Other expenses: Though the cost of the room at Pullahari includes all meals while at the monastery, please budget for donations to the monastery, teacher and translators, travel expenses within Nepal and meals when not at the monastery. Also, for purchases of souvenirs or ritual objects, etc.
