Drupon Khenpo Lodrö Namgyal

Teaching and Guided Meditation on the True Nature of Mind

The highlight of this month’s calendar of activities at the Centre, extending into the beginning of October, is the visit of Venerable Drupon Khenpo Lodrö Namgyal.

On the first two weekends, September 19–20 and 26–27, Drupon Khenpo will teach the text Advice to Lhawang Tashi by the great Rimé (non-sectarian) master, Jamgön Kongtrül Lodrö Thayé, the First Jamgön Kongtrül Rinpoche. These teachings will serve as a basis for a meditation retreat that Drupön Khenpo will lead on the final weekend.

During the third weekend, October 3–4, Venerable Drupon Khenpo will guide us in Mahamudra meditation, drawing on The Kusali’s Instructions on the True Nature of Mind by Jamgön Kongtrül Lodrö Thayé. People wishing to participate in the meditation retreat are strongly advised to attend the instructional sessions during the two previous weekends.

The schedule for the three weekends is as follows:

9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.; 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Break—Refreshments will be served; 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

All sessions for this program will be shared on Zoom and recorded. Participants will have access to recordings if they are unable to attend the live sessions.

Drupon Khenpo’s teachings will be translated into English, French, Spanish, and Chinese.

Sunday, October 4, at 5 p.m.

We will hold a brief ceremony to express our profound appreciation to Drupon Khenpo for graciously sharing the teachings of the Dharma with our community, and to bid him a warm farewell and wish him safe travels. Please join us.

Suggested donation:

  • For the 3 consecutive weekends: Members: $275; non-members: $340
  • Per weekend: Members: $100; non-members: $120
