Drupon Khenpo Lodrö Namgyal
Teaching and guided meditation on the true nature of mind
Saturdays and Sundays, September 19, 20, 26 and 27 and October 3 and 4.
Venerable Drupon Khenpo Lodrö Namgyal will be with us at the Rigpe Dorje Centre in Montréal for three weeks, as announced in our previous newsletter. We are extremely grateful for this opportunity to host this great scholar and meditator, and to benefit from his wisdom.
On the first two weekends of the program, September 19–20, 26–27, Drupon Khenpo will teach the text Advice to Lhawang Tashi by the great Rimé master, Jamgön Kongtrül Lodrö Thayé, the First Jamgon Kongtrül Rinpoché. These teachings will serve as a preliminary for a meditation retreat that Drupon Khenpo will lead on the final weekend.
During the third weekend, October 3 and 4, Venerable Drupon Khenpo will guide us in Mahamudra meditation drawing on The Kusali’s Instructions on the True Nature of Mind by Jamgön Kongtrül Lodrö Thayé.
Participants in the meditation retreat are strongly advised to attend the initial instructional sessions.
Drupon Khenpo was the main teacher of our resident lama, Acharya Choying Gyurmey, during his studies at the Shedra (Buddhist monastic college). Acharya shared with us that simply being in the presence of Drupon Khenpo and listening to his teachings inspired him to wholeheartedly apply himself to his meditation practice.
All sessions for this program will be shared on Zoom and recorded. Participants will have access to recordings if they are unable to attend the live sessions.
Drupon Khenpo’s teachings will be translated into English, French, Spanish, and Chinese.
Saturdays and Sundays, September 19, 20, 26 and 27 and October 3 and 4. 9:30 a.m.—11:30 a.m.; 1:30 p.m.—3 p.m.; 3 p.m.—3:30 p.m.: Break—Refreshments will be served; 3:30 p.m.—5 p.m.
Sunday, October 4, at 5 p.m. We will hold a brief ceremony to express our profound appreciation to Drupon Khenpo for graciously sharing the teachings of the Dharma with our community, and to bid him a warm farewell and wish him safe travels. Please join us.
