Full Moon Day—Chotrul Düchen

Chotrul Düchen is on the fifteenth day of the first month in the Tibetan calendar during the full moon. The first fifteen days of the year celebrate the fifteen days during which the Buddha displayed miracles for his disciples to increase their devotion. During Chotrul Düchen (“Great Day of Miraculous Manifestations”), it is believed that the effects of both positive and negative actions are multiplied.

On this auspicious day, Acharya will bestow the Refuge Vow on those who request it.

We will then recite the Treasury of Blessings Sadhana, a simple and beautiful make a Lamp Offering with the aspiration that obstacles to personal and global peace may be overcome, and that happiness, love, and compassion may spread throughout the world, benefiting all beings.
