LET US START THE NEW YEAR OF THE FIRE HORSE WITH JOY AND HARMONY

ANNUAL YEAR-END MAHAKALA PUJA AND TSOK OFFERING

Saturday, February 14, Sunday, February 15 and Monday, February 16 

At the end Tibetan lunar calendar year, we perform the Mahakala Puja to express our gratitude to the Dharma protectors for their assistance over the past year and supplicate them for continued protection and peace and happiness in the coming year. Mahakala Bernagchen is a Wisdom Deity, a Bodhisattva whose wrathful manifestation is an expression of skillful means to subdue harmful forces affecting beings, personally and globally.

Saturday and Sunday

  • 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Lunch Break
  • 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Monday

  • 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • 6 p.m. —Mahakala Tsok Offering and sharing of the nine-substance Tibetan traditional soup. Please bring cookies, fruits, cake, juice, etc. for the Tsok Offering

Celebration of Losar — The Tibetan New Year 

Please join us to celebrate the Tibetan New Year, the Year of the Fire Horse.

On this occasion, we will present Khatas to the Shrine and recite the King of Aspiration prayer. We will conclude our celebration with a Lamp Offering, with the aspiration that the light of loving kindness, that the light of loving kindness, compassion and understanding will overcome all personal and global obstacles. May happiness, love and compassion spread throughout the world and benefit all beings and the planet.

Traditional yellow rice and butter tea will be offered.
