Norbu Dargey Dorjee, Age: 6yrs
Born in Saldang, Dolpo, Nepal to a farmer family. His uncle, a monk in Kagyu Thekchenling Monastery, brought him to the Home in 2014. He studies at the Jamgon Kongtrul Memorial School, currently in class UKG.

Sarman Mahali Age: 10yrs
Born in Alipurdoars, West Bengal, India to a very poor family, he was brought to the Home in 2013 by relatives when both his parents passed away, and there was no-one to look after him. He studies at the Jamgon Kongtrul Memorial School, currently in class 1.

Sarwan Mahali Age: 6yrs
Born in Alipurdoars, West Bengal, India to a very poor family, he is the younger brother of Sarman Mahali who also lives at the Home, both since early in 2015. He is studying at the Jamgon Kongtrul Memorial School, currently in LKG.

Ridhika Mahali , Age: 3yrs
Born in Alipurdoars, West Bengal, India to a very poor family, her father works as a part time labourer and her mother works with the Doctor at the Jamgon Kontrul Eye Centre. She came to the Home early in 2015, and studies at the Jamgon Kongtrul Memorial School, currently in LKG.

Amber Gurung Age: 6yrs
Born in Lamjung, Nepal, his father works in at Pullahari Monastery. Both his sister and his brother are also in the Home. He came to the Home in 2014 and studies at the Jamgon Kongtrul Memorial School, currently in UKG.

Sadip Puri age: 7yrs
Born in Jaigoan, to a very poor family near the border area of India and Bhutan, his parents passed away when he was just 12months old. Because both his mother and father were alcoholics, he is small for his age. He came to the Home in 2012 and is studying at the Jamgon Kongtrul Memorial School, currently in class UKG.

Tshering Phurba Age: 5yrs
Born in Dolpo, Nepal to a highland farmer family, he is the nephew of Shilri Tulku of Lava Monastery. He came to the Home early in 2015. He is studying at the Jamgon Kongtrul Memorial School, currently in class LKG.

Tshering Lodo Age: 6yrs
Born in Dolpo, Nepal,, his uncle, a monk at Pullahari Monastery, Nepal, requested that he be admitted in the Home admitted in Home and he has been there since 2014, studying at the Jamgon Kongtrul Memorial Schoo, currently in UKG.

Chemi Sangmo Age:15yrs
Born in Dolpo, Nepal to a poor family, her parents are highland farmers. Her father heard about the Home and successfully pleaded for her admission in 2006. In that year, she joined the LKG at the Jamgon Kongtrul Memorial School. Currently she is class 9. Her sponsor recently passed away.

Jeet Bahadur Gurung Age: 67yrs
Born in Darjeeling, India, his parents passed away when he was very young and for many years he lived with his uncle helping him in his work until it became clear that he had become a burden.. He then struggled to make a living throughout his youth. At the age of forty-five, he got married but just a few years later his wife passed away and then his child. As he aged he was increasingly unable to cope with his job as a kitchen helper in hotel. It was the hotel manager that brought him to the home in 2013.

Pem Kimas Sherpa Age: 78yrs
Born to a poor family on the outskirts of Kalimpong, India, she got married at the age of 39 to a local man, giving birth to two sons. A few years later, both children died due to malnutrition and shortly afterwards her husband also passed away. She starteddoing gardening, washing and cleaning for others.. Gradually, her health started to deteriorate and eventually she couldn’t work anymore and she lived in great poverty. A police officer from her village noticed her miserable condition and brought her to the Home where her health improved.
